Frequently Asked Questions
Why should we choose Rydell Studios for our wedding?
We absolutely love what we do! Our work has meaning and that’s the sole purpose for why we do it. To be a part of and capture what we know will be one of the best days of your lives is an incredible honor. Typically, on the day of you’ll see us smiling as we know you’ll look back on the very footage we’re capturing and treasure it as time goes by. We take pride in our work and know it’s something you’ll always have.
How do you interact with us during the day?
Our style is very observatory. We like to capture the day as it unfolds from little moments of children playing to reactions of those watching the main events happening. Occasionally, at opportune moments throughout the day we may ask how you’re feeling, but typically you will be so busy the day of that you may hardly notice us!
What are the guest interviews offered in the Platinum Package?
Throughout the day when possible and during the reception we provide your guests with the opportunity to say something special. Many people will congratulate you, share stories, and offer words of wisdom as a newlywed couple that you will remember for years to come.
Will you attend our rehearsal?
If your wedding is located within 20-30 minutes of Hazleton and our schedule allows for it, we will most likely attend your rehearsal. This allows us to develop a “game plan” for the big day to know who the key players are (bridal party/parents, etc) and to figure out the best placement of our cameras at the ceremony. Some churches may have strict rules about where we can be the day of so the sooner we know this the better! It’s also a great way for us all to become a little familiar with each other before the big day.
Do you have lighting equipment to accommodate a more dimly-lit event?
Yes, we do have lighting equipment if necessary. Our cameras and lenses also allow us to capture events in less than optimal lighting situations. See our videos for examples.
What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
We carry two Canon HDSLR (HD) cameras, Panasonic HVX, multiple lenses, tripods, monopod, shotgun mic, vocal microphone, and a wireless lavaliere mic to capture the vows.
Do you give access to your raw footage?
We believe we do such a great job editing that it’s just more fun for you to see the finished video! For this reason, raw footage is not available. The final DVD consists of the best footage – let us do the hard work!
Do you require a minimum number of hours to book?
Yes. Our packages start at a minimum of 6 hours.
How far can you travel?
We service the greater Philadelphia and surrounding areas including Lehigh Valley and the Poconos, but we’ll go pretty much anywhere if the price is right. We do charge a $250 travel fee for weddings being held more than a two hour’s drive from Hazleton to cover gas, mileage, and our time spent traveling.
How much do we need to put down to reserve our wedding date when we sign our contract?
A deposit of $200 is required to book your wedding date with us. The deposit is non-refundable and comes out of your total.
What is the booking process?
After sending you our handy contract form we’ll email you back and forth to get the ball rolling. We’ll usually try to schedule a meeting with you in person (if you are located within 20-30 minutes of Hazleton) and/or a skype meeting to get to know you both as a couple. We do limit the amount of weddings we book each year since this allows us to provide a more personalized, boutique service by having the time to get to know our clients. For this reason, we are selective with whom we book.
How long does it take for the client to get the final video?
Usually final videos are delivered within 3 months of your event, but never longer than 6 months, depending on our editing schedule. We take pride in our work and make sure that your wedding video is perfect before we send it out. Here’s an idea of what we’re actually doing on the post-side of things: Media Import, Transcoding, Tagging and Organizing footage from multiple cameras, Planning, Cutting/Editing, Syncing multiple sources of audio and video, Review & Corrections, Color Grading & Stylizing, Export compression for DVD, Testing, Interactive DVD menu design & creation, DVD label creation (for DVDs and cases), DVD Burning/Testing as well as Packaging & Shipping. These steps also don’t include the time invested in order to make the best possible creative choices.
What does the personalized DVD mean?
We take into account the colors and fonts used in your wedding and incorporate that into the design of our cases, DVDs, and menus. In order to assure the highest quality, we mail out the master DVD to a company in Florida to have them professionally printed. This process takes a little longer, but we believe it’s worth the wait!
